ABOUT THE JOURNAL

The purpose of the Revista Ecuatoriana de Ciencias Filosófico-Teológicas (RECiFiT) is to make the scientific production of specialists in both fields of knowledge accessible to the academic community, positioning itself as a platform for philosophical and theological dissemination with both national and international reach.

The journal is aimed at both academic communities and a broader audience interested in delving deeper into and understanding the complexities of philosophy and theology. This biannual publication, in digital format, aspires to establish itself as a benchmark in the humanities at the local and regional levels.

RECiFiT seeks to address the following thematic axes, reflecting the broad dimensions of philosophy, theology, and their interdisciplinary connections: history, aesthetics, applied philosophy, continental and analytical philosophy, pastoral care, spirituality, bioethics, dogmatics, systematic theology, biblical studies, and other related fields. These areas provide extensive coverage of both contemporary and traditional discussions in the vast domains of philosophy and theology, fostering meaningful and in-depth dialogue across various branches of knowledge.

This is a non-profit project: it does not pay authors, nor does it charge for article processing or publication.

History of the Journal

The Revista Ecuatoriana de Ciencias Filosófico-Teológicas (RECiFiT) was founded in 2023 as part of the academic mission of the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Philosophical-Theological Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador. Its name reflects both its local identity and its commitment to academic dialogue inspired by the Apostolic Exhortation Veritatis Gaudium (2018).

This editorial project is supported by the Conferencia de Facultades de Teología de la Región Latinoamericana (COCTI). RECiFiT is published in digital format, with open access, ensuring peer review and promoting the submission of articles in various languages, including Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

 

Manuscript Evaluation Process

Submitted articles will initially undergo an internal review by the journal's Editorial Team as the first step in the evaluation process.

Following this initial review, the articles will be subject to peer evaluation using a double-blind review system, ensuring an impartial and rigorous academic assessment.

The Editorial and Peer Review Team will evaluate manuscripts as academic peers, considering aspects such as the originality of the approach, methodological and academic rigor, relevance and timeliness of the topic, significance of contributions, as well as clarity and coherence in writing. If necessary, an external academic peer specializing in the article's topic may be assigned.

The evaluation process will remain confidential, with findings documented in a report issued by the academic peers. This report will include one of the following decisions: acceptance of the article, conditional acceptance with required modifications, or rejection.

If the article receives conditional acceptance, the journal's Editor will send the report to the author to implement the necessary revisions. The author is free to make or decline the suggested changes. The journal will only publish articles that are fully accepted.

In cases of controversy, the journal may subject the article to a new evaluation.

For accepted or rejected articles, the journal will notify the corresponding author through an official communication.

 

Publication Frequency

The Revista Ecuatoriana de Ciencias Filosófico-Teológicas (RECiFiT) is published biannually (June/December).

The journal operates as a non-profit platform dedicated to publishing research articles, reflective essays, and academic reviews. Contributions are voluntary and carry no remuneration.

Open Access Policy

Submission Guidelines

Articles must adhere to the editorial standards established by RECiFiT. Authors must register in the system before submission and upload their manuscripts through the Submissions tab. Files must be in Word or Open Office format, with the following extensions: .doc, .docx, or .rtf.

Ethics and Best Practices Declaration

RECiFiT is committed to high editorial ethics standards and implements rigorous measures to prevent fraud and plagiarism. Authors must submit original, unpublished manuscripts of their authorship, declaring these characteristics when submitting their work for consideration by the editorial committee.

The journal also guarantees fair and objective manuscript evaluation by implementing a double-blind peer review system, ensuring confidentiality and impartiality throughout the editorial process.
