Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to ensure that their submission complies with all of the following items. Submissions that do not adhere to these guidelines will be returned.

  • The manuscript HAS NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED, nor is it under consideration by another journal (or an explanation has been provided in the Comments to the Editor).

  • The Statement of Originality and Author Identification File are attached.

  • The manuscript file has been anonymized and submitted in Microsoft Word format.

  • The text complies with the RECiFiT article writing guidelines.

  • For digitized bibliographic materials, the corresponding URLs have been provided in the references.

  • The text has double line spacing, 12-point font, italics instead of underlining (except in URLs), and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed in their appropriate locations within the text rather than at the end.

  • All submissions are peer reviewed by the journal, and the instructions must be followed to ensure anonymous review.

  • The journal’s Code of Ethics, based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), has been reviewed.

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Authors must create an account and accurately complete the required metadata. It is essential that this metadata matches the information contained in the body of the article to ensure an efficient submission process.

Failure to comply with these guidelines will result in the immediate return or rejection of the manuscript.

Copyright Notice

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms:

  • The author must provide written authorization to the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador to publish their article in the Ecuadorian Journal of Philosophical-Theological Sciences. A Copyright Agreement Letter template is available on the journal’s website for download, signature, and submission alongside the article proposal in PDF format.
  • The names and email addresses submitted to this journal will be used exclusively for the stated purposes and will not be made available for any other use or to any third party.
  • Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication of the work, as well as licensing it under a Creative Commons Attribution License, which allows others to share the work with proper acknowledgment of authorship and the original publication in this journal.
