Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy
Due to the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of research, the Ecuadorian Journal of Philosophical-Theological Sciences <RECiFiT> has adopted the following guidelines to ensure its responsible and honest use in the preparation of publication articles.
The Ecuadorian Journal of Philosophical-Theological Sciences adheres to the recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

For Authors
RECiFiT prioritizes research and original authorship derived from rigorous and original conceptualization and reflection on proposed topics. AI tools cannot be listed as authors of an article as they cannot take responsibility for the submitted work. If AI is used in the manuscript's preparation, an AI review report must be attached.

AI may be used to consult data by referencing the consulted sources, as well as to create images (chatbots or image creators) that are relevant to the characteristics of the study object, provided they support the manuscript's analysis or argumentation.
AI cannot be used to translate the article or any of its parts, as RECiFiT's editorial policies require scientific-professional translations. (See Editorial Policies)
Authors who use AI tools must declare their use in the Commitment Letter and attach it with their article submission.

For Reviewers
RECIFIT does not authorize reviewers to use AI platforms to examine manuscripts. For articles that declare the use of AI by the authors, the journal's editorial team will verify the references in the AI report submitted with the publication article.

For Editors
RECiFiT editors are responsible for documenting and verifying the reports regarding the use of AI. They are also committed to ensuring compliance with the standards established in the journal's Code of Ethics. Editors and reviewers should not rely solely on generative AI to review submitted articles.
Ultimately, the final responsibility for editing an article rests with human authors and editors.
