ETHICAL CODE OF THE ECUADORIAN JOURNAL OF PHILOSOPHICAL-THEOLOGICAL SCIENCES (RECiFiT)

 

1. Originality and Plagiarism
   Authors submitting manuscripts to RECiFiT must ensure that their works are original, do not contain plagiarized sections from other authors, and do not replicate fragments of previously published works by the same authors. Empirical data presented must be accurate and not altered to support hypotheses.

2. Multiple and/or Duplicate Publications
   Submitting the same article to more than one journal simultaneously is not allowed. Similarly, the publication of works reproducing the same results on multiple platforms will not be accepted, as it is considered ethically inappropriate. 

3. Citation
   Authors must correctly cite all sources and relevant contributions included in their manuscripts. Failure to properly acknowledge these sources will be regarded as an ethical violation. 

4. Authorship
   Only individuals who have significantly contributed to the conception, planning, interpretation, and drafting of the submitted work will be recognized as authors. Honorary or fictitious authorship is not permitted. 

5. Data Access and Retention
   Authors must provide access to the data underlying their research when necessary. Furthermore, these data should be retained for a reasonable period after publication and made available for review if required. 

6. Declaration of Conflicts of Interest
   All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the results or interpretation of their research. They must also list funding sources related to the submitted work. 

7. Error Correction
   If an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their published article, they must immediately notify the editorial team at RECiFiT. The author should provide the necessary information to facilitate the publication of an appropriate correction. 

8. Authors’ Responsibility
   Authors bear full responsibility for the content of their articles and commit to thoroughly reviewing the most recent and relevant literature, considering diverse perspectives within their field of study. 

9. Peer Review Process
   RECiFiT employs a double-blind peer review system to ensure impartiality and confidentiality. Reviewers must provide constructive feedback, avoid conflicts of interest, and adhere to established deadlines. 

10. Transparency and Editorial Ethics
    The RECiFiT editorial team is committed to ensuring transparency throughout the publication process. This includes implementing rigorous measures to prevent plagiarism and other unethical practices, as well as protecting the rights of authors, reviewers, and readers. 

11. Responsible Publication Policies

• Plagiarism: Any evidence of plagiarism or self-plagiarism will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript.
• Data Manipulation: Reported data must be accurate and faithfully reflect the research conducted.
• Originality: Only original and unpublished works that contribute to advancing knowledge in philosophy and theology will be accepted.

12. Commitment to Diversity and Interdisciplinary Dialogue
    RECiFiT promotes the inclusion of diverse approaches and interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering equitable and enriching academic exchanges. 

13. Compliance with International Standards
    Authors, reviewers, and editors at RECiFiT commit to adhering to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

This ethical code aims to ensure academic integrity and strengthen trust within the research community, positioning RECiFiT as a benchmark for the dissemination of philosophy and theology.
