Selection Policy
The Ecuadorian Journal of Philosophical-Theological Sciences (RECiFiT) has two selection criteria for articles:

1. Subject to Peer Review
   – Studies: These are scientific works that not only outline the state of the art on a given topic but also offer a novel contribution, with a well-defined hypothesis tested through rigorous demonstration and in dialogue with experts in the field. The content may be systematic, historical, analytical, or critical, depending on the subject matter.
   – Studies undergo evaluation by two anonymous experts in the research area. Based on these evaluations, the journal makes a first decision, which is communicated to the author within a reasonable time frame, not exceeding four weeks.
   – Three types of decisions are issued:

   1. The article is publishable in its current form or with minor corrections that do not require new scientific evaluation;
   2. The article is not publishable in its current form, but the proposal is interesting; the author may submit a revised version of the article after considering the reviewers' and editorial team's guidelines;
   3. The publication is rejected, and the editorial team provides justifications, which may include excerpts from the reviews received. This decision is final.

2. Not Subject to Peer Review
   – The journal also publishes texts related to the life of the Ecclesiastical Faculty of Philosophical-Theological Sciences at the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador, such as: conferences, event chronicles, and research project presentations. These texts are not subject to peer review but are evaluated by the editorial team.
